SpiritsDS R4 3DS Homebrew Platform Game Released

The DSi and 3DS Homebrew scene is alive, well, and pumping out new games and applications all the time for R4 3DS owners.  With each new week, there are usually a handful of new releases or updates for our homebrew loving fans, This week brought a game we’ve been watching quite closely.  SpiritsDS is an old platformer adventure game that was originally release for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and various other classic computers of the day.

The game stars your character as a Mage, who is out to find the evil sorcerer that has stolen the crystal ball and book of spells and wand.  Not having these magical items means your magical powers are reduced to almost nothing.  You job is to hunt down the mage.  The evil sorcere has cursed the castle as well, and you’ll have to navigate your mage to get away from all of the creatures he has put in your way to stop you from retriving your missing items.  Fans and owners of the ZX Spectrum or Amstrad CPC will have great memories of this game.  It was a top selling title.  Now thanks to the R4 3DS, you can take advantage of and play this true to the original homebrew remake of one of the best Speccy games of it’s time.

You won’t need an emulator to play the game, as it is a homebrew remake, so you’ll be ready to play it just by putting the .nds file on to your micro SD card.  If you’re a fan of platform games, and retro gaming, definitely try this excellent classic game.  As with all homebrew, the game is absolutely free.
