Just as we knew, at present, there have more than twenty 3ds games
have been confirmed can work well on v4.5 3ds with GW3DS.and today i
will take the 3ds game ” the legend of zelda ” for example to test how
it works on my 3dsxl v4.5 and post here for sharing .
Note : If your N3DS version lower than v4.5,but you want update it to v4.5,you can use a right-copy game card to update your console to 4.5, pls dont directly update your console by wifi,otherwise your 3ds will be automatically update to v6.2.0-12,then you can use GW3DS to play 3ds games. and if you want buy gateway 3ds, you can come to here : buy gateway 3ds
Now,let’s begin to play legend of zelda on 3dsxl with gateway 3dsflashcart
Prepared things
two micro sd cards and a card reader. you’d better get two sd cards, one is for playing ds games, and the other is for playing 3ds games. ( the micro sd card for 3ds games suggested size at least was 16g,for 3d game size is big )
Step 1 : download the GW3DS Kernel firmware v1.1, extract it, there is a file named “launcher.dat” and “Blue Card (R4i)” ,put ”launcher.dat” on the root of your sd card ( the 3DS will come with a sd card, which on the right of console,with a mark “SD ” ) while copy all the “Blue Card (R4i)” contents inside to the root of your micro sd card.
step 2 : put the micro sd card into the GW3DS blue Flash Kit, then put it into your 3ds v4.5 or lower version.
Step3 : power on the 3ds , you will see a game icon on the menu, and then click it, you will see the gateway 3dsflashcart icon called “GW Install”, click it to access the gateway menu.
step 4 : On the gateway 3ds menu, you will see a option “Press A to Install”, and “Press B to Exit”. just Press A, and the GW Install homebrew application will begin exploiting your 3DS system.
Step 5 : The the GW Installer starts corrupting strings in the 3DS’ DS User Settings in order to allow you to crash the 3DS in 3DS mode. This will then allow the exploit launcher to function. Once the installer is finished verifying that the 3DS was exploited successfully, you will press the A button once more to exit to the 3DS’ main menu.
Step 6 : Go to Setting—-other settings—profile—nintendo ds profile—Your 3DS will crash, reboot, and you will be in GW3DS mode. You must go back into the Nintendo DS Profile setting, and crash your 3DS every time you turn it off. You must also run the GW Install homebrew each time you use the 3DS’ DS mode (ROMs, homebrew, etc), and do every step thereafter.
step7 : Download the Win32 Disk Imager program, run it, This program is recommended to write the 3DS ROM to the microSD card.
Step 8 : Insert another micro sd card that for 3ds games into your card reader,then connect PC. Run the Win32 Disk Imager program, select the 3DS ROM, press the “Write” button, Click yes, then the programme starts writing the 3DS ROM files to the microSD card,which will allows the 3DS to read the information off the microSD card using the GW3DS red labeled Flash Kit as if it was an actual 3DS cartridge.
Step9 : after you write the 3ds game to your sd card, just put the sd card into your Red Labeled gateway 3ds Flashcart, insert the red flashcart into the 3ds console, and the icon shows up, click the icon and play the 3ds game with gateway 3ds card.
